In Memoriam: Mindi Allison Pacheco
Our daughter, Mindi Allison Pacheco, went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2026. She was twenty-seven.
This page is for her. I put it together so that the people who loved her, and people who never had the chance to meet her, can see a little of who she is.
Mindi was highly intelligent, independent, funny, and loved Jesus Christ her Lord. She finished her business degree at Texas Tech in three years through the Honors College, then began a Master of Social Work because she wanted to spend her life helping people. She was active at Victory Life, and she loved to sing. You can hear her below.
She was Christian's wife and CJ's mama. She was our daughter, Timothy and Jonathan's little sister, and Martin and Dominga Pacheco's daughter-in-law. Our families loved her dearly.
We grieve, but we will see her again. "We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words" (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

Obituary
Mindi Allison Pacheco, 27, of Lubbock, Texas, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 11, 2026. She was born April 15, 1999, in Dallas, Texas, to David and Amy Rhoades, and she grew up in Fort Worth, Cincinnati, Tulsa, and finally in Levelland, Texas, where she graduated from Levelland High School with the class of 2017.
Anyone who knew Mindi knew this about her: once she made up her mind, the thing was as good as done. She was independent, strong-willed, funny, brilliant, and quick to act - sometimes quicker than the rest of us could keep up with. She entered the Honors College at Texas Tech University and finished her business degree in three years. She had recently begun her Master of Social Work at Texas Tech. She wanted to help people.
Mindi was fifteen when she took a job at United Supermarkets in Levelland, and it was there, soon after she started, that she met Christian Pacheco. They married on September 19, 2020. When their son, Christian Pacheco Jr. - CJ - was born over three years later, he became the joy of everyone's lives, and most of all hers.
She loved her family, every member of it, without reservation. When she married Christian, the Pacheco became more than her in-laws - they simply became her family, immediately and completely. That was how she loved: all at once, with everything she had.
Mindi had an incredible voice, and she loved to sing, especially at her church - Victory Life. That's where she, Christian, and CJ were accepted and loved, and where her friends became family to her.
She is survived by her husband, Christian Pacheco, and their son, Christian Pacheco, Jr.; her parents, David and Amy Rhoades; her two brothers, Timothy Rhoades and his wife, Natalie (and their son, Deacon), and Jonathan Rhoades; her grandparents, Hugh and Mary Rhoades and John and Ann Edwards; her parents in-law, Martin and Dominga Pacheco; and her husband's siblings, Martin III, Joseph and Clarissa - along with aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great many friends who loved her.
Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.... As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness. - Psalm 17:8, 15 (ESV)
