David’s Famous Lasagna


3 Tablespoons olive oil
½ yellow onion chopped fine
1 pound ground beef
1 small tomato paste
Garlic powder to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
1 28-oz can of petite diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon oregano
½ pound of lasagna noodles (6)
3 ounces (or more!) Romano cheese grated
½ pound (or more!) Mozzarella cheese grated
Italian or French bread!

**NOTE – Double the recipe and layer it!**


Sauté onion in olive oil. Add meat and brown. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, spices. Salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil and then lower to simmer for one hour stirring occasionally to keep from sticking to pan.  Cook noodles as directed. Layer noodles, sauce and cheeses.Double recipe and place in a deep 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. You can make sauce ahead to time but it may need to cook a little longer to heat through the lasagna. And don’t forget to bake the bread!
